emotion, consciousness, gender, personality, identity, and life-span
development. The course explores key factors impacting learning,

introduces the student to social psychological models, concepts, and
applications for understanding collective thoughts, values,
expectations and social processes that structure and interact with self
identity, roles, status, and human behavior.
The course covers concepts, relationships, and studies that help us
understand how we influence
and are influenced by others' presence, persuasiveness, interpersonal,
and group behavior in
different settings. Attributions, beauty, perception, gender,
prejudice, motivation, communication, conformity, conflict, altruism,
aggression, addiction, health, and creative problem-solving

Course Title: PRINCIPLES OF ECONOMICS
Number: SST304

(aka Introduction to Economics) Introduces students to principles essential
to understanding the basic economizing problem, specific economic
issues, and the policy alternatives available for dealing with them.
Upon completion of this course the student will have a thorough
understanding of how the economy as a whole operates with regard to;
output, growth, productivity and the causes of economic fluctuations.
Also, students will comprehend the causes and impact of inflation,
unemployment. Students will also comprehend the law of supply and
demand in the micro economic environment. Finally, students will be
exposed to investment markets, interest rates and the impact the
Federal Reserve system (its structure and role) has on the U.S.
economy. Special attention will be devoted to transitioning economies,
both Russia and China with regard to central planning, collapse of the
Russian economy, the new Russian market system, and Chinese market
reforms. College level.

Course Title: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This college survey course offers an overview of types and techniques
of research, with emphasis on applied research in an educational, community, or social-action setting.
Participants explore sources of research literature, and investigate proper methods on how to read
research reports, including critical thinking about the various
elements of the reports. Examples of qualitative and quantitative
methods are introduced. The assignments consist of advanced readings, sample exercises, library research, field observation
or self-initiated projects. Students will review design, data-collection, interpretation, and reporting
roles when using quantitative, qualitative, evaluation, action-research models, interventions, and methodologies.
This course may be taken by students in the social and natural sciences.
